Kodak Black Sentenced To 4 Months In Prison

Kodak Black’s ongoing incarceration saga finally has a conclusion, for now. The Florida rapper was sentenced to 120 days in prison.
The Sun Sentinel reports that Black pleaded no contest to the two misdemeanor drug charges that landed him in trouble. He will not serve the entire four months because he was given credit for the time he’s already spent behind bars.
“At the end of the day, for St. Lucie County, I think he did well,” said his attorney, James Regan.
For the record kids, “did well” should mean not going to prison, at all.
The “No Flocking” rapper has been in jail since May after he was nabbed on warrants for armed robbery and false imprisonment. He was ordered to be released in August, but wound up having to stay in jail after courts found more warrants, one of them being for sexual battery in South Carolina.
As of now, Black is scheduled to be released on November 30. But with that sexual battery case looming, there is no telling if he will be a free man then either. In the state of South Carolina “sexual battery” is defined as when a “victim is forced to have sex, helpless under the influence of drugs or kidnapped.” The charge carries a punishment of up to 30 years in jail.
Adding insult to injury, Black’s driver’s license was also suspended for a year.
Before the May arrest, Black looked to be one of rap’s next stars. He landed a coveted spot on the 2016 XXL Freshman cover and his Lil Big Pac tape was considered one of the must-listens of the year.
