As Super Bowl LI nears, we expect to hear a lot from businesses as they release the million-dollar ads we’ll be watching on Sunday.
But Skittles went a different direction.
With the eyes of the sports world on Houston, Texas, the company sent former Super Bowl champion and Skittles afficionado Marshawn Lynch to Houston, Scotland (map) to talk football and candy.
The former Seattle Seahawks running back rides his bike through the Scottish town, sharing Skittles with townfolk, learning about (and designing) kilts and bagpipes, and even getting confronted by an unruly Scottish mob.
Not only is Lynch surprised to find out how many Scots know about the Super Bowl, he learns from one woman that people stay up until “ridiculous o’clock in the morning” to watch the game. (Kick-off is scheduled for 11:30 p.m. local time in Houston.)
Houston is a few miles up the road from Paisley, where Lynch made headlines earlier this month “popping wheelies” on his Skittles bike and almost getting hit by a bus.

Incidentally, Skittles apparently released their Super Bowl LI commercial a week ago:
