There are 25 states that currently have laws legalizing marijuana in some form. In the state of California, it’s legal to sell medical marijuana, and in recent months, it’s become a prosperous business for the Golden State.
So, The Game wants a piece of the action. The Compton rhymer recently became a co-owner of a marijuana dispensary located in Santa Ana, Calif. The store is called The Reserve, and it’s one of 10 licensed medical marijuana dispensaries in Santa Ana, according to The Orange County Register.
The Game also plans to develop a branded strain of marijuana at the shop and distribute to other dispensaries by the end of the year.
“Our mission as a community is simple: safe and legal access to a plant that saves lives and changes futures,” he said in a statement. “At the foundation of every emerging industry is good people willing to stand up, step out and pave the way for future generations to come. The Reserve is my platform for nationwide education and statewide access to consistent, locally grown, premium medicine.”
The Game is not the only pro-weed artist in the marijuana business. Fellow rappers Snoop Dogg and Prophets of Rage member B-Real have been advocates for the legalization of marijuana and have weed strains of their own.
More cities are welcoming the idea of dispensaries selling medical marijuana. In November, Californians will have the opportunity to vote on legalizing the drug for adult use.
